President's Honor Roll & Dean's List

The President’s Honor Roll and Dean’s List recognize outstanding achievements by Texas A&M University–Central Texas undergraduate students at the end of the fall and spring semesters.

President's Honor Roll

The President’s Honor Roll recognizes degree-seeking undergraduate students who completed at least twelve resident credit hours for which standard letter grades are awarded (“A,” “B,” or “C”) in a term with a GPA of 4.0.

Dean's List

The Dean’s List recognizes degree-seeking undergraduate students who completed at least twelve resident credit hours for which standard letter grades are awarded (“A,” “B,” or “C”) in a term with a GPA of 3.5 to 3.99.

Additional President's Honor Roll & Dean's List Qualifications
  1. To qualify for either list, the student cannot have grades of “I,” “D,” or “F” appearing on their academic record for the qualifying period at the time of calculation. Also, courses completed on a pass/fail basis do not count towards the minimum of twelve credit hours to qualify for either list.
  2. Degree-seeking undergraduate students who maintain less than 12 resident credit hours in each term in which they are enrolled during the fall and spring semesters year may qualify for either list if they have completed at least twelve resident credit hours combined during the two terms. This academic year calculation will run at the end of the spring term.
Timing & Release Restrictions

The President’s Honor Roll and Dean’s List will be calculated immediately after final grades are due. It is estimated that the fall lists will be published in mid-January and the spring and combined in early June.  List qualification is a one-time process and will not be posted to a student’s record retroactively if their eligibility changes later, such as fulfilling an incomplete after the calculation date.

Students who have filed an Information Release form with Records and Admissions to restrict directory information will NOT have their name published in any President’s Honor Roll or Dean’s List. Any student who has invoked their right to privacy under FERPA will not appear on the list.

Eligibility for Honors Graduation

Institutional honors are awarded only for undergraduate, A&MCentral Texas coursework. To be eligible for honors graduation, a student must earn no fewer than 45 Semester Credit Hour (SCH) at A&MCentral Texas.

Individuals earning degrees with fewer than 45 SCH from A&MCentral Texas must meet the following criteria based on all credits for their degree plan, including core courses taken at other institutions [i.e. Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (B.A.A.S.), and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.)].

Honors graduates will be recognized as follows:

3.90 - 4.00 GPA - Summa Cum Laude (Highest Honors)
3.70 - 3.89 GPA - Magna Cum Laude (High Honors)
3.60 - 3.69 GPA - Cum Laude (Honors)

Announcement of honors during commencement does not ensure the student will be awarded institutional honors on the diploma. Students must achieve the above-defined GPA after all final grades are posted for the semester in which the student is graduating.

Graduate students are not eligible for institutional honors.
